Sammamish Trends

Sammamish is a suburb of Seattle with a population of 64,049. Sammamish is in King County and is one of the best places to live in Washington. Living in Sammamish offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Sammamish there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families live in Sammamish and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Sammamish are highly rated.

Sammamish Plateau existed as an unincorporated part of King County through most of its history. A vote to join neighboring Issaquah was held in 1991 but failed. The following year saw another unsuccessful effort, this time for incorporation. Shortly after, there was a renewed movement for cityhood, driven by the frustration over the development policies of the county government. This effort was approved by voters in 1998, and Sammamish was officially incorporated in August 1999.
